FreightWaves officials announced on Friday that the company will expand its operations in Chattanooga.The transportation and logistics data and content provider will invest $3.9 million in the expansion and create 260 new jobs in Hamilton County.

I thank FreightWaves for choosing to expand its operations in Chattanooga and creating 260 new jobs in Hamilton County, Governor Bill Haslam said. The transportation and logistics industry in Tennessee continues to gain momentum with more than 245,000 Tennesseans employed in this sector. When companies like FreightWaves continue to invest in our state, it will help Tennessee lead in the creation of high quality jobs.

Since 2011, more than 12,000 jobs have been created in Hamilton County, and I appreciate FreightWaves for adding 260 new jobs in Chattanooga, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner BobRolfe said. FreightWaves currently employs approximately 50 people at its Chattanooga facility and with this expansion, they are growing their workforce exponentially. I thank the company for making this substantial expansion in Hamilton County and look forward to seeing FreightWaves continued success in our state.
