The Dalton State College womens golf team captured their second tournament title of the fall season on Tuesday with a two-round team score of 617 to win by one stroke.

The Roadrunners erased a seven-stroke first-day deficit to overtake the hosts from William Carey University in the Carey Collegiate Fall Classic at Canebrake Country Club in Hattiesburg, Miss.

Dalton State sophomore Caroline Griffin earned medalist honors. Griffin shot a 1-over-par 73 on Tuesday and defeated Jennifer Nguyen of the University of Southern Mississippi in a playoff. Dalton States Katie Dalton finished tied for third with Heather Nail of the University of Mobile (Ala.).

Julia McQuilken (78), Erika Wardzinski (74) and Ashley McDonald (78) completed the Roadrunner team scoring on Tuesday, while Rachel Rebne (83) and Carly Shane (90) also competed in the 48-player tournament.
