For the past 60 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Chattanooga has served over 21,000 youth in the community. In honor of 60 years of service, a Birthday Celebration was held at The Chattanoogan Hotel.

During the event Mayor Andy Berke presented Chattanooga Police Departments Sergeant Sean OBrien with the very distinguished award of Tennessee Big in Blue Big Brother of the Year. Officer OBrien has been an active volunteer with BBBSGC for seven years.

The keynote speaker Rashaad Williams, a former little, minister at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, and current assistant principal of Brainerd High School, was introduced by longtime friend, Big Brother and BBBSGC Board Member Robert Divine. Mr. Williams eloquently shared an inspiration recollection of the impact mentoring made on his personal and professional life.

With over 250 in attendance, the night was a great success. Current and past board members, our founding families, along with many friends of the agency celebrated BBBSGCs diamond anniversary. The night concluded by viewing Because of You a video directed by Josh Yang (2016 American Advertising Chattanooga Gold Addy/Best in Show Winner).
