Now that the weathers getting warmer, its time to get out of the house and explore Nashville. From the Harpeth River to the Adventure Science Center to Warner Parks, the Nashvillearea offers plenty of family-friendly fun for all ages.

So pack a healthy lunch, get the kids in the car and enjoy spring in Nashville by heading to one of these nearby destinations.

Float the Harpeth The Harpeth River snakes 125 miles through the middle of the state before emptying into the Cumberland River. During much of the year, it offers onlyClass I rapids[1], which are perfect for children and beginner boaters. There are a number of access points to the river in and around Nashville, as well as outfitters offering canoe and kayak rentals. If you have older children, renting kayaks will allow them more freedom.
