The Northwest Georgia chapter of the Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association (Northwest Georgia SORBA) recently received a $15,000 Lyndhurst Foundation grant to assist with a two-mile trail extension at Daltons Raisin Woods Mountain Bike Park.

Northwest Georgia SORBA, a 501(c)3 nonprofit mountain bike advocacy club, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the city of Dalton for Raisin Woods in 2004. During the past 11 years, the club has developed approximately six miles of trail built primarily by volunteer efforts. The park has become a popular spot for hiking, trail running and mountain biking.
