CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.

Girls of all ages are learning what it means to create masterpieces of their own!

Over 50 girls will be learning how to play a musical instrument, write, and record their own songs at the Chattanooga Rock Camp.

The camp teaches girls ways that they can musically express themselves through song. Not only are they learning how to do that, but they are also building friendships to last them a lifetime.

Co-Founder and board member Amelia Rodgers-Jones believes that this camp is important for girls. It's important for the girls to learn new skills, but it's also important that they are able to build self-esteem and confidence.

"A lot of us see this as the kind of confidence program that we wish we had had as kids. That's where we're coming from, and that's where we put a lot of emphasis as well, building self-confidence and self-esteem" says Rodgers-Jones.

The camp will continue throughout the week and they will host their showcase this Saturday at 2 p.m. at Song Birds South.
