Regional planners are looking for community input as they begin mapping out new land-use guidelinesfor part ofthe city.

As part of the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Regional Planning Agencys land use plan, [1]leadersare seeking feedback about East Chattanooga, which is called Area 3.

The Area 3 communities affected areAvondale, Battery Heights,Boyce Station, Bushtown, Churchville, Ferger Place, Gaylan Heights, Glass Farms, Glenwood, Highland Park, Missionary Ridge, Oak Grove, Orchard Knob, Ridgedale, Riverside, Waterhaven and Wheeler Avenue.

The plan will help guide business and residential growth by addressing matters such as zoning.

The agencys Senior Planner Justin Tirsunsaid that the goal of the area plan is to create a guide for growth that reflects community members visions for their neighborhood.

We need [the community] to be engaged so that the plan reflects what they want, he said.If we dont get feedback from [the community], its just what the staff thinks.

To get a grasp on the communitys desires, the regional planning agency will host an Area 3 Kickoff Meeting at Carver Youth and Family Development Center at 600 N. Orchard Knob Ave. on June 23 ...
