COLBERT TO NEW GRADS: 'IT'S TIME TO SAY GOODBYE TO THE PERSON WE'VE BECOME'

What do Stephen Colbert and recent college graduates have in common? More than you might think.

At Wake Forest Universitys commencement ceremony Monday, Colbert calmed the nerves of the soon-to-be-graduates by reminding them that their current paths in life arent that different from his own for both Colbert and graduates, the future presents uncharted territory.

Colbert, most famous for his Comedy Central gigThe Colbert Report, ended the nearly 10-year show last year with a final episode that aired in December. ThisSeptember he will take over The Late Show from David Letterman.

Like the new graduates, Colbert is both excited and apprehensive about the adventure ahead. He reminded the grads that just as they must leave behind the student identity theyve spent years molding, he must also move on from the identity hes had on The Colbert Report.
