Tennessee offensive lineman Jack Jones said "there was really no other choice" in the decision to give up football.

Joneswrote a letter on Twitter to thank the University of Tennessee after news was revealed earlier in the day by coach Butch Jones aboutthe neck and shoulder injuries the junior had been battling.

"Football & Tennessee. They have been my two favorite things since I can remember. So thank you, to the University of Tennessee, for allowing me to play the game I have loved my entire life for my home state.
