EVENT SCHEDULED TO KICK OFF NATIONAL DRIVE ELECTRIC WEEK

This weekend, dozens of Chattanooga electric car drivers and enthusiasts will participate in a national event to raise awareness about plug-in vehicles.

The Saturday event, a tailgate party, will kick off Chattanoogas Drive Electric Week, which is Sept. 917.

The tailgate will be on the west end of Station Street Sept. 9 from 3 to 8 p.m.

The tailgate will feature more than a dozen electric and low-emission vehicles such as cars, bicycles and motorcycles. There will also be displays, and owners will be on-site to answer questionsabout their cars and the benefits, including clean-air and cost-savings advantages.

The event is part of the seventh annual National Drive Electric Week. Its free, and the public is invited to attend.

Green Commuter will provide electric cars for test drives.
