The Catamounts feel they are back to where they belong -- on the verge of another state title.

Dalton High School's boys soccer team travels to Gainesville for a Class 6A semifinal match against Gainesville at 6:30 tonight. Dalton, the top ranked team in Class 6A by[1] and the top seed from Region 6-6A, is on the road after losing a coin flip to determine home field as the Red Elephants are also a No. 1 seed from Region 8-6A.

The Catamounts (20-1) are looking to return to the state championship match after they were eliminated by Greenbrier in the second round on penalty kicks in 2016. Dalton won three straight state championships from 2013-15 and built a streak of 80 consecutive matches without a loss before falling to Riverwood in the region tournament, also on penalties, just before the state tournament a year ago.
