During a cold January weekend a couple of years ago, Matt and Kelly Rozanski were looking for something to do and, on a whim, decided to go to a nearby Ideal Living Resort and Retirement expo in Schaumburg, Illinois, to find out about some warmer places to visit or live. They were eager to leave the high taxes and cold weather of Illinois winters behind and began reviewing the array of resorts and developments highlighted at the show from around the country, many on golf courses, lakes or oceanfront properties.
