The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera[1]will showcase new and old music throughout their 201718 season, a celebration of 85 years with special events and programs.

"Classical music is alive and well, and while we honor the masters from the past, we also celebrate the new masters," CSO music director Kayoko Dan said. "Im excited to work with Bla Fleck and his new composition, just as Im thrilled to conduct Mahlers Symphony No. 1. Our 85thanniversary season is filled with powerful, passionate, dramatic, fun, beautiful music and musicians."

Tickets for individual events will go on sale Aug. 1.

There will also be four concert series throughout the year.

The Barnett & Co. Masterworks Series will include a variety of pieces, including Mahlers Symphony No. 1, Poulencs "Gloria," Vivaldis "Four Seasons" ...
