PARENTS SAYTENNESSEE’S INSEMINATION BILL ISN'T NECESSARY

Parents of children conceived through artificial insemination say a controversial bill at the state capitol is unnecessary and raises more questions than answers.

The Tennessee Code says babies born to married women through artificial insemination are considered the legitimate child of the husband and wife, but House Bill 1406 would tear that language out of the state law book.

"We shouldn't have to feel, like we have a different label than everyone else,” said Jamie Sumner, a mother of three children conceived through artificial insemination.
