Website: The Community Theater at Memorial Auditorium might seem an unlikely portal, but this weekend it will transport visitors to a host of far-flung places. The impetus, of course, is the Lookout Wild Film Festival, a four-day showcase of wild places and the people they inspire, all while highlighting Chattanooga as a mecca for outdoor adventure and recreation. Now in its fifth year, the festival is gaining the notice of sponsors and filmmakers, who have begun to bombard founder Andy Johns with a bigger selection of A-list films. "In the past, we've had to take about a dozen [films] that were maybe on our B-list, but this year we actually had to cut about 20 that were on our A-list," he earlier told the Times Free Press.
