ANOTHER TOWER CRANE COMING DOWNTOWN, AS DEVELOPER LINES UP MONEY FOR $65M SOBRO HOTEL - NASHVILLE BUSINESS JOURNAL

The Holiday Inn represents some of the 4,475 hotel rooms developers are pursuing or building just in this part of downtown a record pipeline that includes what would be four of the eight largest hotels downtown, if they existed today. A full 20 percent of those rooms are targeted for this particular square city block, including a 468-room hotel under construction and a proposed 21-story luxury hotel.[1][2][3]

On Tuesday, Dayal's company is poised to receive final approval of its design from the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency[4]. Dayal said he has hired Nashville's D.F. Chase Inc.[5] to build the hotel, a contractor fresh off of creating the 27-story Westin in SoBro. Site work could begin within the next month or so, pending on permits issued by Metro. That timing would mean the hotel would open in 2018, Dayal said.
