Garden plots are available this spring at the new Carpenter Park Community Garden in Cary.

Cary residents can submit an application to the town to rent sections of the garden from now to Tuesday, March 1, at 5 p.m. If all of the plots are taken, additional applicants will be kept on a wait list.

The sections of the garden are 20 feet long and 6 feet wide. Each gardener will bring his or her own tools, seeds and plants, but the town will amend the garden beds. Rentals run from April 1 through Feb. 1, 2017. Each plot for that period costs $33.

Cary residents can volunteer to help build and maintain the park’s garden beds. A few garden plots are also reserved for the community’s use, including one-time projects.

To apply, call 919-469-4061 or search for “Carpenter Park Community Garden”
